Today I have a nice feature in the International Herald Tribune about a camel farm in the Netherlands.
The 26-year-old farmer Frank Smits in Cromvoirt saw an untapped market for camel milk in the increasing number of European immigrants from Somalia and Morocco, where camel milk has long been popular for its allegedly curative properties.
Here is the link to the actual article in the IHT and a slideshow in my online archive.

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to post from Visa Pour L’image in Perpignan. My macbook died on me at the beginning of the week as I accidentally let it fell out of my bag.
So a set of pictures will follow up when I’m back home as soon as I finished some scheduled assignments in the coming days
However I have been able to post a few (fun) pictures on my Facebook page before my Macbook came to it’s sudden death.
Look for ‘Roadtrip to Perpignan’
I haven’t been posting much here lately due to some personal circumstances. But right now I’m en route to Visa Pour L’image in Perpignan.
Through out the week that I’m there I plan to post some stuff here on the blog and I will upload photo’s from the festival to my Flickr page of which the is link coming up later. You can also follow me on Twitter (/micheldegroot) for updates.
A nice commercial about what seems like a very nice little camera.
Some info on the Pen E-P1. I think I want one when it comes out..

In some cultures it is common that when you want to look more beautifil you make you eyes as big as you can. That’s what this Chadian girl did when I photographed her. She spread her eyes as wide open as she could to look at her best for the picture.
